Commonly Asked Figure Skating Questions  -

I overheard a parent talking about home schooling their child. Is this necessary to be successful as a test track skater?

Test track skating events are tailored for the skater who participates fully in classroom and extra curricular activities as a full time student from elementary through high school.

Decisions to home school should consider a broad range of issues besides skating goals.
I am aware of any figure skating scholarships. If they exist, they are not comparable to those awarded at the top tier of colleges for football and other major male dominated sports.

The chance of getting an academic scholarship is much greater then the possibility of become a national, world, or olympic skater.
