What happens if there is a costume malfunction?

A referee at a competition will allow a skater or couple reasonable time to repair a costume. If upon expiration of the time, a repair cannot be made, the skater or couple would be disqualified.

A judge in charge at a test session will allow a skater or couple reasonable time to repair a costume. If upon expiration of the time, a repair cannot be made, the skater or couple would withdraw from the test session without penalty. They would be eligible to retake the test as soon as it could be rescheduled.
