Commonly Asked Figure Skating Questions  -

Judges have indicated that transitions need to be added between elements. Please help me understand what is occurring and how to fix the problem.

Discuss this issue with your coach as it is likely that the choreography of the program has your skater ending one element and immediately starting another element so they blend together without adequate time for the judges to evaluate and mark.

It is very desirable to allow judges and technical panels make identification and mark each element individually. A short transition allows for judges to record their marks.

It is poor strategy to plan elements in such close proximity that the judges don’t see the start of the next element because they are entering a mark.
